Hi GEstes, We recently refreshed our media for Windows 10 and it grew beyond the 4.7Gb limit of a normal DVD. As mentioned below, you can use a USB or you can purchase and burn a Dual-Layer DVD which has the 8.5Gb. 10.4.6 Full Install Dvd Notice that the check for previous will fail (and 'Continue' button is grayed out). Choose the option of restoring from a Time Machine backup and go as far as you can (note: if you do actually have a Time Machine backup, pretend that you don't - making sure you've already removed any backup drives you may have plugged in).
I've not seen this problem show up yet but it seems to be a variation on a theme :
I ran the update with nothing else running or connected. Left the machine to its own devices and when I came back the update package and apparently tge files were in the trash. I've tried software update again but it won't connect (mail and safari do, so it's not my connection). I can't check my permissions, disk utility quits unexpectedly, as does system preferences. I can download the standalone version, the installer runs OK but when I reach the 'Select volume to install to' stage I have no choices. The installer does not recognise my HD. I can't even start from the tiger DVD anymore, I keep getting a kernel panic. I am still shown as using 10.4.5.
Any help would be appreciated
